Distraction

I have been searching for something solid
something so intense that it will distract me from this absense
this aching in every beat drummed from hollow coves
I ignore it
I've given up exploring it
because all I come up with is
shit isn't really all that bad
I'm just bored, undecided, dissatisfied, and maybe a little lonely
but it could always be worse
and it has been before
so maybe I should count my blessings
in the eyelashes that used to kiss me goodnight
